The Three Queens come to Liverpool

I had a brilliant day on the Mersey on Bank Holiday Monday, when the three Cunard liners all met up just in front of Liverpool Pier Head.  I was in a great position to see the manoeuvres as the three mighty ships turned on the spot directly in front of me and lined up so that the crowds could see the three together.  Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth were absolutely magnificent, and after a dull morning, the sun just picked out their beautiful white paintwork.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the Red Arrows flew over and left a trail of red, white and blue.

CATS Youth Theatre comes to Westhoughton

CATS came to tea  – that’s a Sunday Afternoon Tea at the Rotary Club of Westhoughton  – on 29th June 2014.

They provided an excellent performance of songs from well-known modern musicals, ending up with a selection from “Les Miserables”, which they have presented as one of their major shows in May.

The performance by nine teenage stars was absolutely tremendous and thoroughly enjoyed by Rotarians and their guests.

Have a look at shots of the show and the CATS stars here:

This was the end of President Arthur Price’s year of supporting the local charity Lagan’s Foundation, providing support for parents of children with congenital heart disease.

Vibrant Vintage Fashion Show

There was a fantastic turnout of some 160 (mainly) ladies to see a Fashion Show in Westhoughton hosted by two highly talented local businesses:

– Vibrant Vintage

– Alexandra Kay Designs

You can see a complete range of the stars of the catwalk here.

There were no fewer than 14 models (plus Chris – the more than token man on the catwalk).  Designs were fabulous vintage dresses and custom creations.

The event raised some £1,500 for a local charity – Senior Solutions, which provides visiting and other services for people on their own in Westhoughton.  A brilliant effort by all those involved in setting it up!  Well done especially to Victoria and Alexandra.

I was privileged to be asked to be the official photographer.  I took an overwhelming selection of shots of gorgeous models in fabulous dresses, and had a real struggle to select those to include in my portfolio here.  Have a look in the gallery (people -> models) to see a broad cross-section of this wonderful work.
